The Long Beach Register expands household delivery and integrates daily coverage into the Los Angeles Register
LONG BEACH, CALIF. – June 3, 2014 – The Long Beach Register is expanding its delivery of the Sunday edition starting June 15 to 61,000 households across Long Beach.
"With an expanded distribution to driveways, doorsteps and offices across Long Beach, the Long Beach Register effectively becomes more accessible to people who have yet to experience our brand of locally-focused, community-building journalism," said Aaron Kushner, co-owner of Freedom Communications and Publisher of the Los Angeles Register. "This targeted distribution provides opportunities to cultivate relationships between more readers and advertisers, and further connects the many vibrant parts of the city to each other."
Additionally, the Long Beach Register will be transitioning its content from the standalone community edition to inclusion within the Local section of the Los Angeles Register. The Los Angeles Register will now feature a daily Long Beach Register section covering key city news and information. On Sundays, subscribers in Long Beach will receive a standalone Long Beach Register bundled with their Los Angeles Register.
Kushner explained, "By integrating content into the Los Angeles Register, we deliver more value to subscribers by providing Long Beach content to all of Los Angeles County."
Freedom will maintain its news bureau in Long Beach to ensure it maintains comprehensive coverage of Long Beach, Los Angeles County’s second largest city, and its surrounding communities.
Long Beach Register, which debuted in August of 2013, began its bundled distribution with the Los Angeles Register in late April as part of a larger plan by Freedom Communications to expand its service and newspaper portfolio within Los Angeles County.
Freedom launched Los Angeles Register on April 16 as a locally focused, community-building daily newspaper serving Los Angeles County. It is now available through a subscription at an introductory rate of $19.99 for the first four weeks by visiting losangelesregister.com or by calling 844-LA-REGISTER. Los Angeles Register is also available through more than 5,500 retail and news rack locations across Los Angeles, including major grocery and convenience stores such as 7-Eleven and AM/PM, for $1.50 daily and $2 for Saturday and Sunday.
Additionally, Freedom has launched more than a dozen community newspapers serving specific cities within Los Angeles County in recent weeks.
