We have a strong commitment to our local community and have been a community leader since the early 1970s. Each year we produce telethons for non-profit agencies in addition to producing more than 6,200 public service announcements for 40 different groups, helping them to raise over $500,000. Our Coats for Kids program, which has provided thousands of coats to local needy children, is in its 21st year. The Darrell Patterson Volunteer Challenge, which has been hosted by the station for 15 years, has raised $488,000 for the local Santa for All Seasons charity. For the past 24 years, our weekly Wednesday's Child vignette, featuring our senior anchor, has helped to match hundreds of area children with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
