Philosophy:
Our mission is to be the most influential television station in New York’s Capital Region. This is achieved on-air by the most useful, professional and polished news programming in the region, and by using the station’s influence to improve the quality of life in the communities we serve.

Special features:
WRGB is recognized for state-of-the-art on-air graphics, fully-automated news studios, non-linear production suites, and the largest production studios in Upstate New York. Many television stations perform community service, but few of the magnitude of WRGB’s Melodies of Christmas. This full-scale, Broadway-quality stage and television production is a Capital Region holiday tradition, and has raised millions of dollars for local children with cancer.

Awards:
We have won numerous Emmy awards, New York State Broadcasters Association awards, Associated Press awards and National Broadcasters awards — all for excellence in broadcast journalism in various categories including breaking news, sports and children’s programming.

Location:
The capital district is surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains to the north, the Berkshires to the east and the Catskills to the South, and bordered by the Mohawk and Hudson Rivers.

Market:
New York’s Capital Region offers an outstanding quality of life, enhanced by an affordable housing market. It’s home to nearly 1000 high-technology, computer software and entrepreneurial firms, including GE Research and Development, Plug Power Inc., IBM and MapInfo Corporation. With more than 21 colleges and universities, the Capital region is fast becoming a national force in the attraction and recruitment of technology companies. The highly-qualified workforce, top-rated educational institutions and world-famous cultural and recreational attractions are just a few of the attributes that make the Capital region an ideal location for new business growth, and an exceptional place to live.

Things to do:
The region is a year-round mecca for arts, outdoors and sporting enthusiasts. Saratoga Springs is a few minutes drive and features legendary Thoroughbred Racing. It is also the summer home of the NYC Ballet and the Philadelphia Philharmonic.
